Happy 1st Birthday Megan!

Megan's birthday was on the 27th but we celebrated her birthday today. We had a great party with all the good stuff-bbq, cakes, etc. Megan had her yucky shots yesterday and for the first time developed a fever which didn't break until right at noon when the party started. So, most of the pictures she isn't her smily self because she wasn't feeling too good. It was the craziest thing, it was like having 2 different Megan's, one super clingy, sad, and not wanting to get down and the other one playing like normal and being adventurous. I'm happy to say that she is feeling much better tonight.

Here is a picture of Megan's "smash cake." It is the caterpillar from Baby Einstein...which 2 weeks before the party she stopped watching but I had already ordered the character plates and banner! It's still cute though.

This is what was left of the cake! I know if Megan would have been feeling better she would have done more damage, she still make good work of it though!

Here we are with both cakes and Megan is reaching for her bath toy that I used for the head on the big cake!

Here is the main birthday cake, so cute!

She dived into each one of the different cakes! So much fun!

This morning at 8:03am Megan's new baby cousin Jessi arrived! She is just beautiful of course. I will add a picture when we go back up the hospital. She weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 inches long!

Just having some fun

Look at those teeth!

Big smiles and giggles for this trick!

Megan's favorite toys are her books!

Miss Megan!

Here is the best shot of her teeth so far! She has 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

We like to teach Megan silly things that really aren't useful but are fun. For instance her first word other than dada and mama was poof (for her puffs she loves to eat) and then boom. In the past we have also taught her to take her paci from our mouth (our mouth on the handle part) and stick it back in her mouth, this was really cute until she spied her cousin's paci and went straight for it! So here is our latest silly antic-we've taught her to make the babababa sound by banging her hand against her mouth while saying baaaaaaa. It's just too cute! Here is a picture of her doing just that.

More silliness!

Here is Megan playing the How Big? So Big! game that she loves.

As you know, I don't cook much but I am starting to like it more and more. Here is a picture of my tasty creation tonight! It just looked so pretty that I had to take a picture. More pictures of Megan will be on there way soon!

Megan's Funny Faces

Last night I took several pictures of Megan while she was eating, these were all taken in a couple of minutes. It's amazing how many different facial expressions she can make!

Weekend at the Dierking's

Over the weekend we gathered at Grandma and Grandpa Dierking's to celebrate the 4th of July as well as Michael's birthday. Megan had a blast, on Saturday grandpa bbq'ed while Michael and his brother Jon shot off fireworks and attempted to blow things up! We played Blokus several times as well. The next day we had yummy turkey and cake and the kids played and played and played! Megan wanted to be outside all day long and she wanted to practice walking over and over and over!!! We shot off fireworks at night and who knew that a $6 firework would go so high or have so many booms! The next day the kids managed to get some swimming time, Megan didn't like the swimming pool so much, she cried at first then she tolerated it for about 15 minutes! After all of that we were wore out and came home!

Here is Megan practicing!

Here is a funny shot that she will hate us for later!

Here is Megan enjoying a sled ride in June!

Here is Megan exploring by sticking her hand in a hole filled with water!

Megan is all greased up to go swimming, because she doesn't wear a hat and doesn't have enough hair to protect her head, it was destined to get slathered as well! I thought the spikes looked cute!

Here is Adam, Luke, Megan, and Michael swimming (or wading in this case)!

Here is Grandpa and Grandma relaxing playing Patty-Cake with Megan!
