Growing Up...

Megan is really growing up on us quickly. We are starting the whole potty training thing which is going pretty well. She loves her pretty panties of course. Dora seems to be her favorite. When I took these pictures today I was amazed because all of a sudden she looks so much older. Her hair is getting longer and it's just crazy that she's not wearing diapers all the time anymore. It's a little sad but exciting at the same time to look forward to all the amazing things to come!

Sidewalk Chalk

Megan loves chalk. She works really hard on her wonderful creations! Of course she has chalk everywhere including her face, limbs, and anything inbetween! Her favorite place to draw is on the carport because there's a lot of space!

Randy Bacon Pictures

A few months ago we were chosen for this calendar project Love Nests and we had our pictures taken by Randy Bacon. Thanks again Miriam! We have been trying to decide which pictures to get because we get 2 free 11x14's (a $170 value). Here is a sample of the pictures he took. The actual pictures are of much higher quality, I took these with my camera with the photos on the computer. It was quite an adventure and I can't wait to see what the final project looks like! I'm thinking that we will get the first picture and then possibly see if we can zoom in on Megan in the 2nd picture. I like #27 but Michael's head's cut off which he doesn't like. Michael likes #24 but I think it's just ok compared to the other pics. And then there's the bedroom picture. I think it's a good picture, just not us, so I am sure it will end up in the calendar, we'll just have to wait and see. Feel free to post your thoughts on which pics we should get!

Pony Tails!

Last week we had a blast fixing hair. Schyler brushed and fixed my hair and then we all had pigtails! Well, Megan's was more like a mohalk but that's ok. She left those ponytails in from 3-7 which was amazing. We will definitely be fixing hair again!

PAT, Water, and Potty Stories!

This past week has been very busy. On Saturday I had the end of year Carnival for Parents as Teachers. I volunteered to do bowling because I thought it would be the least expensive activity. Well, I didn't think about the bending over to reset the pins (empty water bottles) for 4 hours straight. The kids loved bowling and kept coming back for more. Needless to say it was exhausting, and I didn't really get to talk with my families. The worst part was I didn't have a chance to drink a lot of water and so afterwards I was vomiting all afternoon and evening. It was not fun. On the bright side I felt better by the time I went to bed and I learned a very valuable lesson! No bowling for me next year! As far as my job is converned I will be coming back next year and I'm looking forward to it, everyone says the 2nd year is so much better, less stressful, I hope they're right!
We also managed to take Megan to a quiet little stream that was really shallow. She went charging in full steam ahead! I had to hurry up and grab her hand! Unfortunately the water was still chilly but she didn't care, we made her get out every minute to warm back up and then she'd charge out again! This summer will be so much fun! She is an outdoorsy girl which is great. Everytime we go out the door she wants "water" or "lala" as she says it. We are looking forward to time in the water soon!
The other exciting thing that happened tonight is that she decided she wanted to go potty before getting ready for bed. We thought she was just trying to put off going to bed. So we let her sit on her potty and sure enough, she went pee! So far it's all on her terms but I think we will have to start getting serious about this potty training business! She's showing us that she's ready! We've had the potty in the bathroom since Christmas and until this last month she's used it as a seat to sit on. Now she's actually using it! We are going to try and be relaxed about the whole thing so that hopefully it won't be too stressful!

Overdue Pictures!

Here are Megan and Schyler dressing up with hats, they had a blast with these hats as you can see with the ear to ear smiles!

Here is a cute one of my dad and Megan!

A Place to Call Our Own

It's been a while, we moved and had to decide about getting the internet, we gave in within a week! We are officially in our new house, we closed on Friday May 2nd and moved in on May 3rd. Thanks to the wonderful family and friends that helped us move, it was quite a job! I haven't taken any pictures of our house with our stuff in it yet but soon. We have a long list of projects to get done but there's lots of time to do that.
Megan is really enjoying the backyard, she doesn't quite understand that we can't go play everytime we go outside. She has managed to take off 2 of her 4 closet doors while playing. I took the other 2 off because each time was a close call to serious injuries. She loves the big window in the living room, she spends a lot of time sitting on the ledge. She has slept in her room for naps and bedtime since we moved in with no problems, she just goes to sleep, it's wonderful! We are loving our new house and we are looking forward to making some updates in the future!
