Jacob Rolled Over Today...Back to Tummy!

Jacob rolled several times today from his back to his tummy! I will be posting pictures when I get the chance. He is also getting his leg up under his tummy so big things are going to start soon!

Megan finally got her way and got 2 hermit crabs...wow they are a lot of work it seems! She named them Nike and Reebok. So we now have a fish (named Chicken) and 2 hermit crab! What will be next?

Here are pictures from the week! And what a week it has been. Jacob started solids which he does not seem to like so far.

Megan's first tomato! Something has been swiping our tomatos and my mom saw the thief today, it was a silly squirel. They have waited until the tomatos are ripe though!

Jacob's Crazy Growing!

Jacob is growing like crazy, we went to the Dr's office today and he's huge. 16 lbs. 11 oz. and 27 in. long. That means he has been growing about an inch and a half a month, the Dr. said we probably have another month before he outgrows his infant seat...yikes. Megan was in it until 11 months. The Dr. also have us the go ahead for solids so this afternoon Jacob got his first taste of rice cereal, pictures coming soon!

Texas Pictures Part 1

Here is Megan in the car pointing out where we are headed! She had a lot of fun waking Jacob up with the map! Jacob was standing on the couch by himself...then he had fun toppling over!

Today we enjoyed time at the pool. Megan is starting to get more adventerous and started floating on an inner tube. Jacob was so relaxed he fell asleep in his floating thing, we thought we had him completely shaded but somehow he ended up with a sunburn on his face especially under his eye and his arm. Needless to say it made the 15 hour trip interesting, he fought sleep for 1.5 hours each time screaming and screaming. Megan was great she took naps in the car, played Leapfrog Tag, and watched a movie...thanks Dad/Susie! The dvd was a big hit with her because she had no idea we had it! We are happy to be home...Megan managed to "chop his tooth off" in her words. Michael and her were playing flashlight and she managed to hit his tooth and half of it is gone, dentist on Monday, poor Michael! We are trying to take naps today and my mom is a big help with the kids. We had a great time in TX but it's nice to be home too!

Today we went to the Children's Museum in downtown Austin. Megan had a great time doing all the activities. Her favorite was a pig parachute! After that we came back to the house and played in the kiddie pool. We also enjoyed eating out tonight! I'm exhausted and ready for bed!

Today we relaxed around the house in the morning. We attempted to find some butterfly fabric and bike accessories with no luck. We went to the pool and both kids had a blast. I can't wait to add pictures. Jacob was Mr. Cool in his floatie pool thing, he had his hands up on the sides and completely relaxed, it was great. Megan was a little timid at first but then she walked all around the pool and even floated with her "boey" lifejacket on. She threw a fit when it was time to go so I think she really enjoyed herself!

Today we went to the mall for Dad/Susie to get haircuts. I found a pair of capri's :) After that we headed out to Steak-n-Shake. I have yet to eat my meal from there because Jacob decided to be super cranky. Michael and I took turns with him. After that we decided to head home rather than shop! We swam in the kiddie pool, Jacob even had some fun. We sat him in the bumbo which helped my arms out! Michael bbq'ed pork lion and we are now trying to relax hoping the kiddos are sleeping.

Thursday/Friday

Although I don't have pictures on here yet I thought I would update those of you who read our blog! We arrived in Austin after 15 long hours. Megan had a hard time sleeping and stayed awake until almost 11pm and then woke up each time we stopped to feed Jacob. Poor girl was exhausted. We arrived around 6am and went to bed. That day we relaxed, went to the grocery store, etc. We also went out to find the Kick-n-Play, we found it successfully and it's great for Jacob.

Saturday

We had a great time with Susie's family, yummy bbq chicken. Megan and the other kiddos played in the kiddie pool. Megan really enjoyed socializing and wanted Susie's daughters o do everything for her, not Mommy or Daddy! She had them get her food, put on her clothes, etc. Jacob enjoyed flirting with the younger ladies and really enjoyed being held by Susie's grandaughter Phoebe. In the evening we went to the 2nd story roof for fireworks. Megan did wonderful. It was 10:30 by the time we went to bed, poor girl!

Sunday

Megan played in the kiddie pool of course. We went over and played with the kiddo again, Megan didn't want to leave. We went out for Mexican food and it was the best yet. The margaritas were good too! Megan had a virgin daq. and loved it.

Monday

So far today we went out on our own shopping. Found a Disney store that had everything I've ever wanted! Megan climbed up to the top of a playground at McD's for the first time ever! Megan's nap time seems to be from 3:30-5 these days. O well, it'll get worked out when we get home.
