Christmas Eve!!!

We decided to start the Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve. We gave our presents to Pop-Pop and Susie and the kids opened some of their presents too!

Jacob definitely got the hang of presents! He immediately wanted to unwrap the gift and could not wait to get the toy out of the package. Here he is stretching under the tree for the next present!
Who me?

Here is her treasure chest filled with chapstick, fingernail polish, hair things, etc. She loved it and Jacob continues to try and get into it!

Christmas Day...Part 2

We loaded up the rest of Santa's gifts and took them over to Susie's daughter's house to enjoy Christmas day with them.

This is a "gaga" pit the kids played at the ymca...my dad made them their own gaga pit with a tetherball in the middle for Christmas. Megan also enjoyed the game! It was a big hit!

Christmas morning Part 1...We started the morning at Pop-Pop and Susie's house opening a few of the presents from Santa. The kids were a bit sleepy but had a good time!

Jacob was getting a little pouty because he couldn't figure out the puzzle!

Merry Christmas...Group Photos!

We've enjoyed a wonderful Christmas in Texas this year! Megan is stocked with all kinds of craft projects and Jacob is stocked with cars and tractors! The trip down here was a dream. The kids did wonderful and we hope the return trip is just as good!

Merry Christmas!!!

Not to spoil the surprise when our Christmas cards arrive...after Christmas...here are the kids Christmas pictures! We finished our first of many Christmas celebrations today and had a wonderful time with the Calvert bunch and then the immediate family, or as Megan called it, party 1 and party 2!

The five grandkids are growing up! On a side note, Jacob and Jessi have the same size foot...she's a year and a half older than him!

Trains!!!!

Jacob is finally putting our train tracks to good use! All of a sudden he is very interested in connecting the train tracks...he doesn't seem to care too much about the actual trains going on the track but that will come in time!
Of course Megan is showing more interest in the train track now that Jacob likes it!

Maybe all kids do this but I think it's neat, he just looks down at the train track already together, looks in his hand and then puts it together the right way, he doesn't do trail and error, he just figures it out before putting it down!

This picture makes Jacob look so big! He's already in a size 9 shoe and 2T/3T clothes and he just turned 21 months, he's getting to be an expensive kiddo with all of this growth!

Jacob hasn't ventured into connecting the pieces into a loop yet he just keeps on until he hits a road block...like in this picture he's all the way under the coffee table trying to attach more track! We are looking forward to this new found fun with trains!

Uh-Oh

Jacob decided he needed a little snack! He looked so worried we couldn't even get onto him!

So we let the kids make the best of it and eat off the dirty floor...

The next day Jacob tried to dump another box of cereal out...I think we've created a monster!

Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year! Megan wanted to be a butterfly and wanted Jacob to be a butterfly catcher. She was able to dress up for her preschool party and then for gymnastics, and then for the real thing! We started Halloween night out at our friend's church for a trunk-or-treat then over to our neighborhood!

As soon as we arrived at our house to trick-or-treat the cousins arrived too! Jacob, Megan, Luke (Mr. Strong), Adam (Blue Toad), and Jessi (Elmo)! Megan had fun running around with everyone and Jacob was a trooper but we went a little too long and he started to get sleepy and fussy!
Here are the kids with their friends Schyler and Stella. The height difference between Stella and Jacob is getting funnier as they grow! It's hard to believe they are only 4 days apart!

Sweet Kids!

We continue to be busy as can be at our house! We went to the zoo a few weekends ago but didn't take a single picture. Jacob isn't a big fan of the zoo apparently. I love being home at night with the family! I sometimes miss the daytime stuff but I know Megan and Jacob are loved by their babysitter and I couldn't ask for anyone better! In the last few days she has taken them swimming at the Y, to the "beach" by the river, the library, bookstore, market, park, and the list goes on and on! Megan doesn't want to come home at night and Jacob likes it there too. As for my new job it's my dream job and I'm loving it! No two days are the same and each day presents it's own challenges. I love the kids and staff, the teachers have welcomed me into their classrooms with open arms. As for baby #3 things are moving along just fine. We will have an ultrasound done the middle of November and we are strongly leaning towards not finding out boy/girl. We aren't the most patient people so we'll see how that works out!

Jacob and Megan enjoying the beans. Jacob is a little young but it's a fun activity! I love their smiles in this picture! Jacob always has random bandaids and bruises all over because he is all boy. He is still not talking much but we are able to interpret most of his grunts...which isn't a good thing!
With Halloween coming up soon we've been playing dress up a lot lately. Megan pretends she's flying! She will be dressed as a butterfly this Halloween and Jacob is going to be a butterfly catcher!

The poor boy is always dressed in girl clothes! He loves everything Megan does and wants everything Megan wants so if she dresses up so does he!

Pumpkin Patch!

On Sunday we took our yearly trip to the pumpkin patch and had a great time. The kids had a blast and it wasn't too busy so we were able to take our time and enjoy ourselves. Each year we pick out pumkins to represent the family and then afterwards we go to Central Dairy. We picked a better day to go than last year because the weather was much more enjoyable!

A somewhat shady picture of the kids with the pumpkins taking the ride back!
The search is on for the perfect pumpkin! Jacob tripped over the vines often but both were good sports! It was definitely earlier in the season this year because everything was green!

Cheese!

Wow, it's a long way down!

My new favorite picture of Megan! I love it with the sun, hair blowing in the wind, and her casual smile!

Look at how big I am!

So cute!
