Spring Break Week!

This week we have enjoyed wonderful weather for spring break! We've spent time at the parks around town and the kids are loving it. We are planning a zoo trip on Friday and Megan is excited and it should be gorgeous.

Jacob carrying around the shovel that's way bigger than he is!
Megan's preschool Easter Egg Hunt, she's been practicing all month and she had a full basket of eggs, which means more candy at home, we still have Halloween candy around the house!

Megan and her friend Chloe from preschool. They are inseparable!
Jacob with a goofy smile. He is becoming mischievous lately smiling like this and then doing something wrong.
Jacob was reading a story to Megan. They are getting so big!

Update!

Jacob has been increasingly "talking" to us lately. He uses his arms half-way up and head to the side to show "all gone." I will try and get it captured on camera! He says "ahhhh" for thirsty (sounds just like Michael after he takes a drink of something cold...coke...beer...). He says "mamamam" for more, usually with his arm raised. It is a lot of fun watching him learn to better communicate with us to get what he wants. He is also understanding more like the word "no," his favorites to get in trouble with are the trash can and toilet.

Megan is increasingly sassy. She has always had an opinion and she is now starting to really let us hear it! Today she said "no mommy, I can't tell you till Christmas" when I asked her a question! She has become very social lately, enjoying her time with other kids! She used to enjoy playing by herself at the mall or playground and now she only likes it if lots of kids are there. She is less sensitive and more open to new things too. She will be starting speech after next week so that should be interesting.

This week is spring break and the weather is supposed to be upper 60's to mid 70's with no rain all week long! We are planning to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible this week!

PAT Theater Night

Parents As Teachers hosted a Theater Night last week. There were 5 different "theaters" and the kids had a blast. Michael was wonderful and brought Megan and Jacob (who didn't have a nap). Megan talked about it for a long time!
Countdown to Bedtime! Megan enjoyed getting toothpaste at the end!
Cat in the Hat! Parent educators dressed up as the characters and put on a show for the families.
3 Piggy Opera! Parent educators dressed up as pigs!
5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed. Complete with finger puppets.
Going on a Bear Hunt! This was my group and we had a lot of fun! I was the reader for the chant "we're going on a bear hunt (repeat) we're gonna catch a big one (repeat) what a beautiful day (repeat) we're not scared (repeat)." I couldn't get the words out of my head especially that night, I had dreams about it too! After the kids chanted with us we had them go on a bear hunt through the grass, river, forest, cave (with teddy bears at the end), and dive under the covers!
Megan getting ready for the big night!

Birthday Celebration Continued!

Jacob's birthday was a blast! He seems to like being around people which made the party enjoyable. We all had fun playing Rockband and Wii Fit. Of course first birthday's are always more for the adults than the kiddos but I think Jacob had fun too!
Here is Michael's mom playing drums, Jon on guitar, and me singing!
Jacob sitting with the cakes.
All of the kids enjoyed helping Jacob open his presents. I made the mistake of putting him down for a nap and then waking him up early so he could open the presents...he wasn't into unwrapping at all! O well, there will be more birthdays for that!
More Rockband with Michael singing, Jon on drums, and Jenny on guitar!
No explanation needed!
