STL Zoo

Several weeks ago we took a trip to the zoo. Megan was very excited and Jacob was just happy to be out of the house!
Here they are in their car seats ready for the big trip. On the way there we were thinking, this isn't too bad Texas won't be too bad...fast forward several hours and another 2 hours in bumper to bumper traffic inside forrest park trying to find a parking spot, we were rethinking everything from car trips to how many kids we want! OK, it wasn't that bad and remarkably the kids did wonderful while we sat in the car moving slower than a person walking (I was probably the whiniest person in the car!) Miraculously someone left at the perfect time for us to get their spot and the day improved from there on!
Elephants! When Michael I were dating one of the elephants actually sprayed us. Of course we didn't have a camera to capture this but it was hilarious!
The main thing Megan wanted to do was go in the "waterfall" which was a spray at the end of River's Edge, it took us the whole day to figure out this is what she wanted! Jacob also loved it of course. This summer is going to be fun with them in the water.
This is the back of Megan's head while she is looking up at the hippo. This is by far my favorite part of the zoo!

Looking at the penguins! This was definitely Jacob's favorite part of the whole zoo!
Megan looking older than three and a half! She carried her penguin around for the entire trip! We even bought a little version of it for Jacob...which is now with Megan.
Jacob is getting so big!

Schyler's House!

A great get-together with friends from work. Megan especially liked anything Schyler did! She even got down around the dogs (which is huge since she is scared of them!). Apparently Jacob is also afraid of dogs, at the park he started shaking and screaming like he was terrified and they out there the dogs were around and he was the same way, although he did get a little better as the day wore on!
Here are the girls posing for a picture on top of the "mountain" they climbed.
Kids looking out over the field of horses.
It was a very hot and sunny day and I didn't think to get a hat for Jacob...so we borrowed Stella's pink hat! (Michael didn't love that too much!)
Jacob and Stella are days apart and the other kiddo is a couple months younger. They all look like they are trying to escape but they really did like it! Jacob enjoys being flopped all around in the middle!

Easter!

Way overdue Easter pictures. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and the kids enjoyed finding Easter eggs. The church service was wonderful on Easter Sunday. Megan had a total of 4 Easter egg hunts, one at preschool, one with Michael's parents, one at church, and one at home. It's hard to believe that a year ago Jacob was being baptized at Norm's church. What a difference a year can make, I get a lot more sleep now :)
Jacob didn't really care too much about the egg finding but that's ok, I'm sure he will next year!
Megan was an expert egg finder, she practiced for weeks with the sidewalk chalk eggs!
Megan really enjoyed the flowers blooming this year. She is definitely a nature girl!
