Emily's 2nd Week and Easter!

Time seems to be slipping by quickly. Michael was lucky enough to have 2 weeks off work and went back Tuesday. It was great to have so much family time and he is hands down the best daddy ever! Almost too good...I'm concerned about having all three kids by myself this week! Emily seems to be the best behaved of the 3 most of the time! She had a Dr's appointment yesterday and she should have been back up to her birth weight of 8 15 but she's just now at 8 5 so we have to go back again next week for a weight check. Emily is finally awake more hours of the day and it's fun to see her explore!

We had wonderful Easter weekend with family. Michael's dad was there too which made it even more special since we thought they would make him stay in the hospital! And we found out Sunday night that Uncle Jon and Laura are engaged...so exciting!!! The kids enjoyed Easter and Megan did a marvelous job singing at church for Purest Praise. The group had been working for months and the program was a beautiful testament to the true reason we celebrate Easter.

Emily taking a nap in Jacob's bed, she looks so peaceful!
Daddy playing lego's with the kids...Jacob is a lego maniac already!

Jacob was ecstatic to find Easter eggs!

Megan was convinced that the Easter bunny would bring her a Tinkerbell umbrella and sure enough, he did!

Megan and Emily sharing a sweet look!

Yea for a picture of Jacob and me!

Baby Emily 4/20/11

Megan's Preschool Pictures

Megan and I enjoyed a Mother's Day Tea at her preschool the Saturday before Emily arrived and I found the pictures on our other camera today! We had a blast and I was happy to be able to go since it was my due date!

The kids made these gorgeous hats for all of the moms.
Cute expression!

Here are the gifts Megan made for me.

Megan was so excited to serve me food! She did a great job of picking things I like and a couple of things I wouldn't have tried but ended up liking them as well. This was the part she was talking about for days before the event!

Big Brother Jacob

Jacob can do all kinds of new things! After Emily was born he looks even bigger than before! It's hard to remember that he's just 2. He enjoys playing with Megan's leapster and has figured out how to turn it on, get signed in, and play the art game. He also enjoys putting puzzles together and his interest in books is exciting. He loves the big picture books so he can practice his words, sounds, and pointing! His favorite book is the "Yes Yes, No No" book. His other favorite thing is the "Dispicable Me" movie. His favorite part is when Gru pops the balloon on the boy...I've noticed he's a bit more ornery after watching the movie. He wants to watch it everyday all day, I think Megan is really getting tired of it! He also loves to ride his bike around the house, he's getting really good at manuvering and going fast!

The other big news with Jacob is he is officially sleeping in his big boy bed!
We decided to make this transition since both Michael and I are home for 2 weeks. We were nervous because when we would mention sleeping in the big boy bed he would shake his head no and then take us to his room and point to his crib. He has slept in the bed for 3 naps and nights without getting up so far! He does seem to flop all over the place though and although the bed is really close to the floor he fell out the first 2 nights until we borrowed an attachment for the bed! So far go good and the next transition will be moving his big boy bed to Megan's room!

Emily's First Week

Things are going well at our house so far. Michael seems to be a little under the weather but is hopefully bouncing back soon! Emily is starting to be awake for longer periods of time which is nice. She is a typical newborn waking up to eat. Nursing is going well finally, she was the hardest of the three to get the hang of things but I think she finally gets it! Jacob continues to be curious about Emily but is starting to get a little handsy with her and we just keep reminding him to be gentle. He's going to have his hands full with two sisters!

The kids decided to have a movie and snack break with a Daddy foot rest! It's been a fun week for the kids and Michael. He's given them countless piggyback/horsey rides, read books, and danced and jumped all over the house. One of Megan's favorite things to do is run up and down our hallway and Jacob and Michael also joined in this week!

More Emily Pics!

We were able to go home 24 hours after Emily was born! She is doing good at home so far! Jacob is so cute with her. He likes to get real close to her face and feet! Megan is also excited, she makes sure to check on Emily all the time. Today she came in and said "wow, she's been chugging mommy milk for a long time!" Both kids seem to want to help and love to stare at her. We finally had some time where Emily was alert and awake for about 10 minutes for the kids to really interact!

When we put Emily on Jacob's lap be covered her up and played peek-a-boo! It was precious!
Megan looks so grown up in this picture!

Emily Marie Dierking 4-11-11

Emily Marie Dierking

April 11, 2011

6:10 p.m.

8 lbs. 15 oz.

20.25 inches

Monday was an eventful day at the Dierkings! 2 days after her due date Emily decided the 11th would be her birthday! I started having contractions during the day at work but since I've had contractions for 2 months I wasn't completely sure until about 2:00 or so. I left a little early and told Michael I wasn't sure if it was happening but I was going home, he decided to meet me there. Within 30 minutes the contractions became stronger and closer together so we went to the hospital. Once we got there things sped up with me...but not with the silly nurse asking at least 100 questions and taking her time about it, over an hour of questions...it was rediculous. After her questions another awesome nurse came in assessed the situation and finally got the ball rolling for the epidural I had asked for right away...before the epidural took effect I was fully dialated and was a screaming crying mess. Then two pushes and Emily arrived! She has super cute chubby cheeks and is sweet as can be! Jacob was very curious about baby Emily and had the best expressions of the day! Megan is very excited and wanted to take Emily home and didn't want to leave the hospital without her!

Family Pic's

Baby #3 is being a very patient baby! Yesterday (the 9th) was my due date and she has yet to make her arrival! We thought she's be here weeks ago and now we are just resigned to the fact it's going to happen eventually! In the meantime we have enjoyed family time with the four of us. I was able to attend the Mother's Day Tea at Megan's preschool which was a blast and Megan had fun serving me lunch, giving me presents, and singing with her class! We also went to Luke's camping birthday party and the kids had a blast exploring in the creek and woods!

Apparently my picture is rarely taken so we are trying to make it a point to get more Mommy pictures taken. The last time Megan and I were in a picture together it was 2 years ago...yikes! So here is a current picture of Megan and Mommy all dressed up for the Tea Party!
Cute sibling picture!
Family picture...except Michael has his eyes closed...o well!

Ice Cream!

We decided to take a trip to the lake today because we were getting tired of waiting for this baby to arrive! We had a great day eating Imo's, shopping at the outlet mall, playing at the park, and later playing outside! The kids were a lot of fun today!

More Snow...With Easter Lillies!

Snow fell yet again around March 26th! It was a beautiful snow and covered everything except the roads! In Megan's hand she has an Easter lily and under the snow the grass is greenish! The flakes were huge and we had a blast!
