Football fun!!

We made our annual trip to the first home Jays football game. Every year the entire JCPS staff is invited for bbq and games.  We always walk down and enjoy a little bit of the football game until the kids can't take it anymore!  Usually we make it to halftime but not this year...all three with opinions didn't last sitting for the time.  However, we did have a good time overall!

Love this picture of Jacob looking down at the football field!

Megan happy for the moment!

Megan wishing she could go down on the next level with her friend.

Cute picture but I would've loved a smile!

Emily enjoyed the night!

Megan and Emily

Megan...what to do with Megan! She started first grade this week and so far says she's loving it. We really like her teacher and I love that my hours changed this year so I can walk her into class  and touch base with the teacher each day.

She was really wanting this hot pink purse but I said no...I'm so mean!

First day of school!

Megan has an actual desk this year. She's so grown up!

Megan climbing the tree at the bbq.

Emily loves anything that Jacob loves.  He's really into super heroes right now so naturally she wants to act like one too!

The girls sharing a sweet moment together!

Megan celebrating a friend's birthday at her bowling party.  Megan refused to bowl...she wouldn't even touch the ball!

Emily with her hair all curly after her bath!

Jacob

Jacob started preschool this week at my school! He is considered reverse mainstream in the early childhood special education class and goes M-Th 9-12.  I love having him in the building and seeing him more often.  I also love having the teachers give me little tidbits about him! He's learning so much already!

Jacob ready for his first day!

Jacob was so proud of himself putting his popgun in his shorts waistband!

A picture of a picture! Jacob in his classroom at his cubbie!

Frog Fun and more!!!

As you know Megan is crazy about bugs, reptiles, and anything basically that is creepy crawly! She caught 2 different frogs last week and much to my dismay they were still alive (with no food) after a week.  Today she had planned to let them go but ended up playing with them and having so much fun. One of the frogs (the big ugly one) actually jumped back in her habitat thing.  She decided that because they were so "good" they wanted to be like pets. She had a whole explanation about how we need to bbq more often outside so she can enjoy her new "pets.' Meanwhile I'm nearly jumping out of my chair each time she brings one over to say "hi!"
Love this picture...poor frog was dangled, squeezed, dropped, and who knows what else!

The frog even had fun driving the boat!

Here it is again!

Now they are back inside the new "home" but she decided they needed to be "tickled" so she found a weed and tickled them until they jumped!  Poor things!

Emily was also very interested and was open to touching the jumpy things too!

Update!

Jacob had a blast digging into the chicken leg!

Success! This is also a pre-haircut look!

Here are the kids after their haircuts...free haircuts!

Jacob did not want Megan's arm around him and let her know it!

This picture was taken right after, look how sweet he is now!

Loves his trains!

I finally found the right thing to motivate and have fun with learning to read...magnetic words and dry erase board! She loves it and is learning. She's really struggling with learning her numbers but we're taking one thing at a time!

I told her the words and she had to choose them a group of them so these words she knows! It's exciting to finally find something she enjoys that's related to learning because she hasn't been looking forward to school starting.

Megan's Bug Birthday!

Megan turned 6 this year! She is super fun right now and we've had a great summer. She is really really into bugs and reptiles and is learning everything she can about them.  So for her birthday party the theme was bugs...not pretty cute bugs but ugly yucky bugs!  All of the friends she invited came to the party and she was super excited!  Thanks everyone for the help getting things ready and for coming, it was definitely a memorable party!

Here is part of her fun bug cake...a little (or big) cake for each kiddo, Megan helped decide what she wanted-nothing cute of course! So we ended up with bees, spiders, and a green bug!

A fun place to display all of the bugs!

One of her close friends from school-Beau!  She talks about him all of the time and she was super excited when he showed up for the party. They shared a cake and were inseparable! She talks about them going to the jungle together and studying bugs! It's cute! She told me later when everyone left that for her birthday wish she wished to marry Beau...uh-oh!

The other part of the cake was two dirt cakes! Super easy, fun, and yummy!

Emily wanted to get in the fun and unwrap presents!

Megan with her buddies!

Bug stuff!

The circles getting closer and closer!

Here she is opening her fishing pole wrapped in peacock paper! She said "finally I got a fishing pole!"

After the cake and presents we headed outside for a bug hunt! All the kids got a toy snake and lots of toy bugs!

The bugs were everywhere!

More bug hunt!

Daddy and Megan putting together one of her new presents!

Arranging her new lures in her tackle box!

She put a pretend frog in her new frog habitat!

Jacob and his friend Stella (they are 4 days apart!). We love getting them to take pictures together since birth basically! She is on the short end of the scale and he's on the tall end so together they are cuties!
