Crazy week so far!

We have had quite the week! Megan has missed an entire week of school and it's still a waiting game for Monday because she still has a fever, Sunday will be day 7. Easter Sunday she was moody and ended up with a fever that night, it ranged from 103-106 from Sunday to Thursday. We started at urgent care Monday (Dr's office had no appointments) but negative for strep and flu with a send-out culture for strep, the Dr. prescribed Megan an antibiotic and we assumed it was strep...until Wednesday and the second time her fever hit 106.5 so back to urgent care (Dr's office again had no appointments) this time when they ran a urine test they said she had kidney/bladder infection and sent us to the ER for further testing and monitoring...at the ER their test showed no kidney/bladder infection so they did blood work, chest xray, etc. and still nothing so they sent us home. Friday she finally woke up fever free...until afternoon and since Friday she's had a low grade 100-101 fever. At this point I'm okay with that but since it's day 6 today I'm hoping it's completely gone tomorrow...the same as I've hoped since last Sunday! Today we thought she was better so we went to the pet store to get crickets and by the time we got home she was shivery and had a 101. She's barely eaten anything since last Saturday and we keep pushing fluids. I'll keep you posted!

On a positive note, with Megan out of commission this week Jacob and Emily have been getting along great!

Craziness...we've also now purchased an old-fashioned glass thermometer to double "prove" her temps to the dr's!

Doesn't she just look pitiful! She was so brave getting blood drawn and an IV ready to go if needed.

Emily has been copying Jacob playing lately so here she is putting the people in and out of the car!

Megan is usually the one in the kitchen helping but she wasn't up for it (another clue she's not well!) so Jacob said he would help. He put his own mark on each one of the monkey break pieces flattening them!

Emily also got into the action! She was a bit messier than Jacob though!

She wanted to eat one so bad so when she would say "eat now" I would respond "no, we have to cook them first" so then each time she would want to eat one she'd stop herself and say "eat later, cook first." Her vocabulary and appropriate wording is amazing and we are loving it!

Monkey bread and a new recipe of biscuits with eggs, cheese, and ham, they turned out okay but I let the eggs cook too long!

Everyone was sleeping today (aside from Megan and I working on her homework) and Shoney fell asleep like this...she definitely fits in around here!

We decided fresh air might help and took the kids to the pet store, the kids had a blast just looking at the animals, however on the right there is one lone fish all by itself and all three started whining that it should go home with us...no the whining didn't work and the fish is still at the store!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter! We had a wonderful spring break! We had Nicole, John, and Allie over on Friday and the kids colored Easter eggs, ate popcorn, played in the creek, and we also bbq'ed. It was a ton of fun and lots of fun hearing about Nicole's mission trip to Haiti. Saturday we enjoyed coloring Easter eggs again, celebrating with Michael's family, Easter egg hunt, and more! Sunday we went to church. we were a little late so we thought we'd be in the extra seating they open when there's a big crowd...nope...we were seated in the very front row...and we were late because the kids were a but unruly at the house before we left. Needless to say the front row wasn't too bad and the kids did fairly well!

Emily enjoyed the process!

Plop!

Jacob cheesing for the camera!

Emily posing with a few of our colored and decorated eggs!

Sweet Allie decided to color the egg...then dive in and eat the egg! It was hilarious watching her peel a little and eat a little then repeat!

Megan and John not really wanting to look at me because they both were very into their Easter eggs!

Allie, Jacob, and Emily watching the popcorn pop!

Megan posing at Grandma Dierking's for round two of coloring eggs! She's a pro now and I think we may do this in a few months again!

Emily going out for the hunt in the rain!

This is a cute picture of all the cousins!

Emily and Megan posing for a picture before church (maybe that was why we were late too ;)...Jacob couldn't quite get it together to be in the picture and although I did capture one with him in it I don't think he'd be proud in the future! Megan had the letter for the Easter bunny!

The girls were holding hands walking with Michael going to church!

Yea for a family picture with the Easter lilies! Right after this they went outside for an Easter egg hunt which they had a blast doing!

By the time the kids got home Sunday afternoon they were pro's at the egg finding!

Jeans make her look old...note to self, no more jeans!

Jacob was so excited to find eggs before Megan. If he was closer to one and they both dashed and he got it, he was ecstatic. At the end of the night we always talk about the day and on this day he rehashed getting a certain egg before Megan, ahh the power of sibling rivalry!

Fun spring break!

I need spring break every month!

Emily scored some Minnie Mouse glasses after Jacob got his back from the eye doctor because she kept asking for hers...who could blame the girl every member of her family now wears glasses!

I really got into being more creative, cooking more, and playing more during the week. Here we made pancakes and I had all kinds of fun toppings ready to go.

Jacob didn't want pancakes for lunch so he finished his bagel...but then started adding all the toppings!

I also researched a healthy breakfast muffin recipe. Megan helped me smash bananas, measure applesauce, wheat flour, etc.

So the good news is that the recipe was great and I enjoyed a muffin...the bad news is I left them out to cool while we went to the store and when we got back there were ants all over the muffins...ulgh, in the trash they go!

I decided to take a risk and take all three kids to Bonkers by myself...most people would think it should be a no-brainer to take 3 kids places but sometimes it backfires which makes the next time harder to do! Anyways, all three did wonderful and it makes me look forward to summertime!

It's hard to see but there are giant slides and this is the first time Jacob got over his fear and not only separated from Megan but he played hard the whole time, at least 20 minutes doing the same loop of slide, climb, slide, climb, etc.

Emily would have liked to go with the big kids but I made her stay in the toddler area which she loved!

This is Megan's favorite thing to do, swing back and forth!

Megan finished coloring all of her Shrinky-Dink's so we threw them in the oven. The magic in front of their eyes was amazing, they loved every minute!

This is the first time we've let the kids bathe in our big bathtub...now they're hooked! Emily is by far the most adventurous, she purposely pours cups of water on her head and when she moves and gets a little slippery it's almost like she wants to go under...what are we going to do with this girl!

Although Jacob has his issues, we sure love him and he was loving his bubbles!

Emily was actually squealing with delight here, she'd get bubbles on her arms bring them up squeal, then plop them back down!

Megan really liked being able to float around and "swim"! Fun times, when the jets are on the bubbles get a little crazy so it doesn't last long, next time we are going with no bubbles!
