We have had quite the week! Megan has missed an entire week of school and it's still a waiting game for Monday because she still has a fever, Sunday will be day 7. Easter Sunday she was moody and ended up with a fever that night, it ranged from 103-106 from Sunday to Thursday. We started at urgent care Monday (Dr's office had no appointments) but negative for strep and flu with a send-out culture for strep, the Dr. prescribed Megan an antibiotic and we assumed it was strep...until Wednesday and the second time her fever hit 106.5 so back to urgent care (Dr's office again had no appointments) this time when they ran a urine test they said she had kidney/bladder infection and sent us to the ER for further testing and monitoring...at the ER their test showed no kidney/bladder infection so they did blood work, chest xray, etc. and still nothing so they sent us home. Friday she finally woke up fever free...until afternoon and since Friday she's had a low grade 100-101 fever. At this point I'm okay with that but since it's day 6 today I'm hoping it's completely gone tomorrow...the same as I've hoped since last Sunday! Today we thought she was better so we went to the pet store to get crickets and by the time we got home she was shivery and had a 101. She's barely eaten anything since last Saturday and we keep pushing fluids. I'll keep you posted!
On a positive note, with Megan out of commission this week Jacob and Emily have been getting along great!
Craziness...we've also now purchased an old-fashioned glass thermometer to double "prove" her temps to the dr's!
Doesn't she just look pitiful! She was so brave getting blood drawn and an IV ready to go if needed.
Emily has been copying Jacob playing lately so here she is putting the people in and out of the car!
Megan is usually the one in the kitchen helping but she wasn't up for it (another clue she's not well!) so Jacob said he would help. He put his own mark on each one of the monkey break pieces flattening them!
Emily also got into the action! She was a bit messier than Jacob though!
She wanted to eat one so bad so when she would say "eat now" I would respond "no, we have to cook them first" so then each time she would want to eat one she'd stop herself and say "eat later, cook first." Her vocabulary and appropriate wording is amazing and we are loving it!
Monkey bread and a new recipe of biscuits with eggs, cheese, and ham, they turned out okay but I let the eggs cook too long!
Everyone was sleeping today (aside from Megan and I working on her homework) and Shoney fell asleep like this...she definitely fits in around here!
We decided fresh air might help and took the kids to the pet store, the kids had a blast just looking at the animals, however on the right there is one lone fish all by itself and all three started whining that it should go home with us...no the whining didn't work and the fish is still at the store!
